Oyabambi congratulates Fawenu on emergence as Kale Kawu’s running mate

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State and former deputy governorship aspirant, Otunba Adetunji Oyabambi, has congratulated Reverend Cornelius Olaosebikan (COS) Fawenu on his emergence as the party’s deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 governorship election.

Oyabambi described Fawenu’s nomination as divinely ordained and praised the leadership of the party for presenting what he called a credible and competent governorship ticket.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Oyabambi said Fawenu’s emergence as the running mate to the PDP governorship candidate, Engineer Suleiman Bolakale Kawu Agaka, reflected God’s purpose and the party’s commitment to offering Kwarans capable leadership in 2027.

He acknowledged that the selection process generated significant interest among qualified party leaders but stressed that the decision reached by the party leadership deserved the support of all loyal members.

“I wholeheartedly congratulate my dear brother, Reverend Cornelius Olaosebikan Fawenu, on his emergence as the deputy governorship candidate of our great party. I believe his emergence is God’s will, and I pray that the Almighty grants him the wisdom, strength and grace to justify the confidence reposed in him,” Oyabambi said.

The PDP stalwart also commended the party leader in Kwara State, Dr. Bukola Saraki, for what he described as exemplary leadership, political maturity and an inclusive consultative process that produced Fawenu’s emergence.

According to him, Saraki has continued to place the unity and success of the party above personal interests, adding that the transparent consultations leading to the decision had strengthened members’ confidence in the party’s leadership.

Oyabambi also expressed confidence in the PDP governorship candidate, Engineer Suleiman Bolakale Kawu Agaka, describing him as a competent, experienced and visionary leader capable of providing purposeful governance for Kwara State.

“Engineer Bolakale Kawu Agaka possesses the competence, experience and leadership qualities required to lead our dear state to greater heights. I have no doubt that together with Rev. Fawenu, they will present a formidable ticket capable of restoring hope and delivering responsible governance to Kwarans,” he said.

He urged PDP members across the 16 local government areas of the state to unite behind the Kawu/Fawenu ticket, saying unity, loyalty and collective commitment would be crucial to the party’s success in the 2027 elections.

Oyabambi reaffirmed his commitment to the PDP and pledged to continue working with other stakeholders to secure victory for the party at the polls.
