Owolabi bags best Kwara lawmaker award
The Chairman of House Committee on Health at the Kwara State House of Assembly, Honourable Rasaq Olatunde Owolabi, has bagged the the Elite Vibez’s best Kwara lawmaker award for the year 2020.
Owolabi who represents Share/Oke-Ode constituency was honoured alongside other eminent personalities at Peace Hotel in Ilorin, the Kwara state , on Sunday.
According to the voting results, Honourable Owolabi polled the highest votes in the e-voting that lasted for over a month, defeating his colleagues who were also nominated, with a wide margin.
According to the organizers, Owolabi carved a niche for himself in Kwara politics through his humanitarian gesture and active participation at the floor of the 9th Assembly, adding that he has touched lives of many people especially at the rural areas in his constituency through various empowerment programmes that are channelled towards alleviating poverty among his people.
Receiving the honour, he said, “I’m highly humbled and grateful to almighty God who gave me the grace to be alive and to contribute in my own way to the development of our great State.
“Today, I remember one of the most important lessons I learnt while growing up which is to always strive hard to put smiles on the faces of people, particularly the aged and the downtrodden ones, this I do with all my heart not knowing that someone out there is taking record.
“I never knew I am doing so well until this awards and several others commendations started rolling in. To the good people of Kwara, the Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, his wife, Olufolake AbdulRazaq, the honourable speaker Salihu Yakubu Danladi, my political father, the Asiwaju of Babalomo, Chief Makanjuola Ajadi, thank you for giving this platform.
