Otunba Oyabambi pays school fees for pupils, donates educational materials to honour late Senator Rafiu Ibrahim
In a bid to demonstrate commitment to education and community development in honour late Senator Rafiu Ibrahim, the former senator representing Kwara South Senatorial District, Otunba Adetunji Oyabambi has paid school fees of pupils across several primary schools in Oyun Local Government Area of the State.
The beneficiaries students of the gesture are those from Wesley Primary School, Ojoku, and other schools across the local government.
According to Salami Maruff Olawale (Dondo), Vice Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyun, the beneficiaries include:
- Adeleke and Aperun Community Primary School, Ijagbo – 90 pupils
- Ayeni Primary School – 60 pupils
- Muslim Community Primary School, Ipee – 80 pupils
- Baptist Primary School, Ipee – 70 pupils
- Community Primary School, Budo Alfa, Ipee – 85 pupils
In addition to covering school fees, Otunba Oyabambi donated two chalkboards to Ansar-ud-Deen Primary School, Ijagbo, and provided funding for 20 students to register for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of PDP Ojoku Ward, Salami Maruff Olawale praised Oyabambi’s selfless act, describing it as a reflection of his unwavering support for education and the welfare of children in the community.
“We offer special prayers for the repose of Senator Rafiu Ibrahim’s soul and thank Otunba Oyabambi for his generosity. May Almighty Allah continue to bless and guide him,” he said.
The initiative has been widely commended by community members, with many describing it as a timely intervention that will ease the financial burden on parents and encourage access to quality education.
