Osinbajo reaffirms FG’s readiness to actualise Humanitarian Ministry’s strategic roadmap
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s preparedness and commitment to the efficient implementation of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development’s Strategic Roadmap (2021-2025).
Osinbajo made the pledge at the official launch of the Strategic Roadmap in Abuja.
According to the vice president, the ministry’s Strategic Roadmap is extremely significant.
It is worth noting that the ministry has built a framework for coordinating programmes under its control, resulting in an inclusive and innovative future thinking ecosystem.”
I am also pleased with the Roadmap’s emphasis on developing links with other government plans, such as the National Development Plan, by putting itself inside a larger matrix of national planning.
The Roadmap, and therefore the ministry, contribute to an environment of coherence, consistency, and continuity across all spheres of governance.
“As a result, the Federal Government stands ready to assist in the implementation of this Roadmap at every step of the way.”
I encourage all stakeholders to band together and work with the ministry to move us closer to a socialist secure nation,” Osinbajo added.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the vice president was represented by Mr Adeola Rahman -Ipaye, the President’s Deputy Chief of Staff.
Also addressing, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, stated that all of her ministry’s agencies were doing well.
Farouq also emphasised the accomplishments of the many programmes under her ministry.
According to her, nine important priority sectors on President Buhari’s agenda were extensively examined in developing the Strategic Roadmap’s seven main strategic emphasis themes.
They comprised the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) and the National Development Plan, all of which President Buhari just unveiled on December 22, 2021.
“Aligning the ministry’s strategic pillars with these operational national plans assures that the ministry and its stakeholders are moving in the right direction in advancing the Federal Government’s developmental stride.”
The strategy also included methods for implementation, monitoring, evaluation, review, and reporting that would be used to guarantee successful outcomes delivery.
These key performance indicators and performance monitoring tools will allow the ministry to assess its efficiency and measure the strategic roadmap’s execution during the five-year period 2021-2025.
“In addition, complete execution of the strategic thrusts and roadmap, while consolidating the Federal Government’s priority areas, will steer us towards accomplishing the ministry’s mandate.”
“Improving the lives of disadvantaged Nigerians and charting a path to a dignified existence for everyone,” Farouq stated.
According to NAN, representatives from the diplomatic community, the Presidency, the National Assembly, the Ministries of Finance, and Budget Planning attended the inauguration.
The Ministry of Information and Culture, as well as many other government departments and organisations, were also present and vowed to assist the Roadmap’s execution.
The introduction and inauguration of the 70-page Strategic Roadmap was the event’s high point.
