Osinbajo hosts senators, APC caucus to Iftar

Days after meeting some APC governors and officially declaring to run for the presidency, the Nigerian Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has invited senators and the All Progressives Congress, APC, caucus to celebrate Iftar at his official residence today.

Vice President Osinbajo’s invitation was read at plenary today by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan.

Lawan announced the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo’s invitation to members of the Senate and APC caucus to Iftar in the evening at his official residence, Aguda House.

He made the announcement after reading the resignation letters of the National chairman of APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and the Deputy National Chairman (North), Senator Abubakar Kyari.

Before their emergence as APC leaders, both Adamu and Kyari represented Nasarawa West and Borno North Senatorial districts of Nasarawa and Borno states, respectively.

The Informant247 had earlier reported that the vice-president hosted APC governor to iftar at his residence on Sunday where he informed them of his intention to run for the country’s top seat.

A few hours after this, his erstwhile political godfather who is equally contesting for president, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu also met with governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC.

The closed doors meeting was held at the Kebbi state Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.

When asked about Yemi Osinbanjo’s declaration after the meeting, the former Lagos State Governor said, “I have no son grown enough to declare.”
