Osimhen to lead history charge as Napoli target first ever UCL semi-final ticket against AC Milan
Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti has revealed that Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen will start the game against AC Milan in their UEFA Champions league quarter-final clash.
Osimhen who was ruled out for three games for Napoli came in as a substitute in their 0-0 disappointing result with Verona on Saturday.
Spalleti said, : “He’ll start, yes. Osimhen has this physicality and speed, you can throw the ball up to him and he can protect it, use his head or use a change of pace, he has so many different alternatives. He is a hero of these fans now, so there is always a wave of enthusiasm around him.
“These are players made of different stuff, they have so many solutions. They fill the box of delights with all their various characteristics.”
Napoli will be hoping to turn things around when they play against AC Milan in their second leg on Tuesday with one goal deficit going into the encounter.
A win against AC Milan will see the Pertenopei extending their history charge of booking their first ever semi-final ticket.
They earlier booked their first ever champions league quarter-finals ticket when they recorded a 5-0 aggregate win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
Osimhen who missed the first leg of the game has scored 23 goals so far in the current season. His current form has taken Napoli close to landing their first league title they last won in 1990
