Osimhen activates party mood as Napoli close in on Serie A title in 33 years
Napoli defeated Juventus 1-0 at Allianz Stadium on Sunday to extend their lead to 78 points and with 17 points clear atop the Serie A Table.
The victory has now got them closer to winning the title which they last won in 1990.
Napoli could wrap up the title as soon as next weekend after Giacomo Raspadori’s 93rd-minute efforts gave them a 1-0 victory in Turin on Sunday.
Should they beat Salernitana at home next Saturday and Inter Milan prevents Lazio from winning at the San Siro a day later, Napoli will have clinched with six rounds to spare.
Maradona led Napoli to its only previous league championships in 1987 and 1990.
Meanwhile, one man who has been an integral part of the success of the Partenopei this season in Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen has so far scored 26 goals so far across all competitions, 21 of them in the Serie A and four assists.
In a tweet on Monday, 24-year-old Osimhen posted on his handle in a mood that could be adjudged as a reaction to the imminent success.
