One-day-old baby dumped in Jigawa hospital
An unidentified woman has abandoned a one-day-old baby boy in Kazaure Local Government Area of Jigawa state.
The state police spokesman, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Thursday.
It could be recalled another woman dumped a two-week-old baby girl in a pit latrine few days ago at Birnin Kudu Local Government area of Jigawa State.
He said the baby boy was discovered on Wednesday at about 2200hrs after he was abandoned inside Kazaure General hospital.
He further said that after receiving the report, police in Kazaure rushed to the scene and the baby was examined by a medical doctor and handed over to the local Government’s community development.
Shiisu said effort is on to arrest the fleeing mother, urging the residents to help the police with any relevant information that will help in locating the mother of the child.
