Olohungbebe pledges to continue teaching at KWASU despite commissioner role

KWASU VC hails Governor AbdulRazaq on Olohungbebe’s appointment

Dr Lawal Olohungbebe, the newly appointed Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development in Kwara State, has pledged to continue offering his teaching services at Kwara State University (KWASU) free of charge while serving in his new role.

Olohungbebe made this commitment when the university’s management team, led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Shaqkh Luqman Jimoh, paid him a courtesy visit at his office.

Expressing his gratitude, the commissioner described the visit as an honour and acknowledged KWASU’s role in his professional growth.

“I got to this position because people recognised my contributions to community development as a staff member of KWASU. The institution gave me the platform to showcase my skills, and I do not take this opportunity for granted,” he said.

Professor Jimoh, in his remarks, commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for appointing Olohungbebe, describing it as a recognition of his contributions to community development.

“We appreciate His Excellency for appointing one of our staff as a commissioner. It is on record that you are the first KWASU staff member to be appointed as an executive member in the state. This is proof that your work at the Centre for Community Development has been well recognised,” the vice-chancellor stated.

During the visit, Professor Jimoh presented a congratulatory letter to the commissioner.

The university’s delegation included the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Professor Olubukola Dada; Registrar, Dr (Mrs) Kikelomo Wasilat Salle; Bursar, Mallam Abubakar Sanni; and University Librarian, Professor Salman Abiodun Salman.
