Olofa’s PA faces court charges for alleged assault on council boss in Kwara

In a dramatic legal development, Moshood Mustapha, the Personal Assistant (PA) to the revered Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye, finds himself at the center of a controversy. Mustapha has been arraigned in a Kwara State High Court over allegations of assaulting the Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) Chairman of Offa Local Government Area, Olatundun Olajare Thomas.

Mr. Thomas, through the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), brought Mustapha to court before Justice Zikir Umar. The charges include attempted culpable homicide under Section 229 of the Penal Code and Section 3 (1) of the Kwara State Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Law.

According to the charge sheet, Obtained by The Informant247, Mustapha allegedly slapped the TIC chairman at Olofa’s palace, causing physical injuries.

Denying the allegations, Mustapha, represented by his counsel, Barrister Femi, applied for bail.

Barrister Muhammed Akande, representing the complainant, served as the DPP in the proceedings.

In a ruling, the court granted the defendant bail to the tune of N2 million with two sureties. The case has been adjourned to June 24, 2024, marking a significant legal episode in Kwara’s judicial landscape.
