Olisa Adibua explains his part in the “Lagos Loves Damini” concert
Olisa Adibua, a prominent figure in Nigerian media, has addressed the backlash he received for his involvement in Burna Boy’s ‘Lagos Love Damini’ concert.
‘Lagos Love Damini’ was a concert held on January 1, 2023, at Eko Energy City Lagos, with Burna Boy as the headliner.
The organizers, WondaX, claim that over 30,000 people made the trip out on January 1st to see the Grammy winner perform at the sold-out show.
Unfortunately, the event was a bust since Burna Boy kept his supporters waiting for more than eight hours before finally making an appearance at 3am in the morning.
His fans were unhappy with the show’s lack of professionalism and Burna Boy’s arrogant attitude. In response, Burna Boy released an Instagram message in which he blamed multiple persons, including WondaX and Olisa Adibua, for the disorganization of the concert.
Olisa Adibua has responded to Burna Boy’s accusations that he was to blame for the sloppy execution of the ‘Lagos Love Damini’ concert.
He wrote in an Instagram post that the company Creative Economy Catalyst had approached him to find performers for their December concerts.
He said he was hired to get Burna Boy as a performer, and that he also helped come up with the concert’s theme and sell tickets.
According to Olisa Adibua, who claims he had nothing to do with planning the event, he was not present at any of the planning sessions. He added that he didn’t go to the concert himself and had to rely on the stories of others who had been there to fill him in on what went down.
