Oke Ero LG debunks viral query letter, calls it fake

says no staff was slapped or humiliated

…launches investigation into alleged assault

The Oke Ero Local Government Area of Kwara State has dismissed reports that it issued a query letter to one of its staff, describing the claim as false and misleading.

In a statement signed by the Secretary of the Council, Hon. Femi Arekujaye, the local government distanced itself from a document circulating in the public domain, purportedly issued to a staff member, Nurse Rufus Favour Mojisola, on behalf of the Executive Chairman, Hon. James Abiodun Fadipe.

According to the Council, the alleged query letter bore no reference number, date, or official stamp, and contained “vocabulary that could only be linked to an uneducated individual who hardly passed through a primary school.”

The statement stressed that no such query originated from the council.
“The public is advised to disregard the alleged query and unfounded claims by the nursing sister in question. Nobody forced her to kneel down, nor did anyone slap her,” the statement read.

The council further disclosed that a committee of enquiry had been set up on Thursday, September 11, 2025, to investigate the matter and uncover what transpired between the nurse and her superior, Mrs. Ayinde Risikat, a community health extension worker who oversees the health facility where she serves.

Preliminary findings from the committee, the council said, revealed that Nurse Mojisola had been absent from duty for over two months without official permission, claiming instead that she was attending a course unknown to her employer.

It added that she was only recently employed and her appointment has not yet been confirmed.

The statement noted that both parties involved in the matter would be heard, with the OIC of the health facility expected to appear before the council on Monday, September 15, 2025.

The council, however, condemned individuals behind the spread of the alleged query, accusing them of attempting to malign the image of the new administration.

“The leadership of Hon. James Abiodun Fadipe will not depart from its fundamental guidelines that include building trust, fostering peace, empowering people, and maintaining accountability,” the statement said.

The council assured the public that the ongoing investigation would get to the root of the matter and that anyone found culpable would face the law.
