The Ogun Government has advised teachers in the public primary schools to simplify their teaching techniques by making use of simple illustrations and diagrams for easy assimilation of knowledge.

The Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board, (SUBEB), Dr. Femi Majekodunmi, made the call on Wednesday, during a monitoring tour of some primary schools in Abeokuta and Obafemi Owode.

Majekodunmi emphasised the need for the teachers to also avail themselves of Information and Communication Technology, as a way of enhancing new teaching methods for improved academic performance.

He noted that all hands should be on deck to ensure that the quality and affordable education programme of the present administration achieved the desired result.

The SUBEB boss expressed satisfaction with the teachers’ punctuality and commitment to duty in all the schools visited.

“The teachers are doing their work; I can see that they are punctual, hardworking and dedicated.

“We have not seen any of them loitering around and I am impressed with all the schools we have visited,” he said.

Majekodunmi enjoined parents and guardians to take advantage of the free basic education policy of the state government, allow their wards to be punctual in schools and monitor their assignments.

Responding, the Headmistress, St. James African School, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, Mrs. Victoria Ilori, said teachers were ready to complement the government’s effort towards achieving the desired goals of the present administration in the education sector. (NAN)
