OAU announces fee increase for new academic session
The authorities of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, have announced a fee increase for students in the new academic session.
The decision to raise fees was made during an emergency meeting of the University’s Senate on September 12, 2023.
Under the previous fee structure, returning students paid fees ranging from N19,000 to N31,000, while freshers paid between N70,000 and N100,000 based on their respective facilities.
The newly approved fees for the Faculties of Arts, Law, and Humanities require newly admitted students to pay N151,200, while returning students in these faculties will pay N89,200.
For students in the Faculties of Technology and Science, new students will be charged N163,200, and returning students will pay N101,200.
In the Faculties of Health Sciences and Pharmacy, newly admitted students are expected to pay N190,200, while returning students in these faculties will pay N128,200.
The University’s Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Olarewaju, clarified that these new fees apply for one academic session only.
