Kwara urges citizens to embrace healthy diets for better living
Kwara State Nutrition Community Mobilization Officer, Mrs. Mariam Oyinlola Ahmed, has encouraged citizens of Kwara to adopt balanced diets to combat malnutrition and promote healthier lifestyles
Speaking during the first episode of Adequate Nutrition and Healthy Living on KwaraTV, a program organized by the Kwara State Ministry of Communications, Mrs. Ahmed stressed the role of proper nutrition in preventing common health issues tied to poor diets.
Mrs. Ahmed explained that the state government’s push for better dietary habits is intended to empower residents to make smarter food choices, leading to improved health outcomes.
She emphasized the importance of a balanced diet that includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, proteins, and dairy products.
“Consuming a variety of foods ensures that individuals receive the essential nutrients necessary for good health,” she noted, urging viewers to incorporate more local foods into their meals.
This, she said, would not only support local farmers but also offer Kwarans access to fresh, nutritious options.
