NSCDC deploys 800 personnel for Eid- el-Fitr celebration in Kwara
The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has deployed over 800 operatives to the state in readiness for the forthcoming Sallah celebrations.
The State Commandant Makinde Iskil Ayinla, stated this on Thursday in a press statement made available to newsmen.
He disclosed that the Corps comprising uniformed and plain cloth personnel will be deployed across the 16 local government areas of the state.
“We are going to work together with other sister agencies towards ensuring adequate protection of lives and property of the law-abiding citizens across the state.
“Officers for this special operation will be drawn from the intelligence and investigations departments, armed squad and the anti-terrorism unit, anti-kidnapping unit as well as officers from the divisional headquarters among others,” Makinde stated.
He stated that officers will be deployed to the praying grounds, markets, recreational centres and other places operationally marked as vulnerable, adding that various heads of the units, area commanders and divisional officers will be on ground to monitor and supervise the situation.
” In line with our core mandate, officers will also be deployed to the train stations, oil pipelines, border, and other locations of critical infrastructures and national assets” Makinde expressed.
