The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has mobilized 2,900 personnel across Kwara State to ensure a secure and peaceful atmosphere during the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

State Commandant Mohammed Umar announced that officers are strategically positioned in all 16 local government areas to safeguard prayer grounds, recreational centers, critical infrastructure, and other public spaces.

In a statement from the command’s spokesman, Ayoola Michael, Umar affirmed the agency’s commitment to security, stating, “Our presence will be visible, coordinated, and reassuring. We have assessed the risk areas, identified critical points, and implemented a multi-layered approach to ensure a safe and peaceful celebration.”

The NSCDC has also issued a warning to discourage any attempts to incite unrest or engage in criminal activities during the festivities.

Umar extended greetings to the Muslim community for the Eid celebrations and encouraged residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies.
