Kwara: NSCDC decorates 158 officers, inaugurates Agro Rangers for food security

The Kwara State command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), today, decorated 158 newly promoted officers of the corps in Ilorin.

Speaking during decoration of 158 newly promoted officers and inauguration of the agro rangers, the Assistant Commandant General of the corps in charge of Zone D, Muhammed Aliyu, called on the security team to demonstrate a high level of professionalism in the discharge of their task of ensuring food security in the country.

The team of agro rangers are tasked towards ensuring peaceful coexistence between farmers and herders in the state.

The NSCDC boss who was represented by Paul Kolawole Ayeni, said that the task ahead of the Agro Rangers is enormous.

He disclose that the federal government’s diversification from oil to agriculture had attracted criminal elements to the state.

Aliyu said that the corps would, therefore, be saddled with the responsibility of ensuring peaceful coexistence between farmers and herders.

He further said that without peace in the farming communities the aim of attaining food security would be a mirage.

He consequently urged all the officers and men of the corps to ensure they discharge their duties diligently.

Also speaking, the Kwara state commandant of the NSCDC, Mr Bello Ale, advised the Agro Rangers as well as the newly promoted officers to remain committed to their duties at all times.
