NPFL: ‘Battle of Uniteds’ as Kabir Dogo, Tunde Sanni face off in Lafia
Kwara United will face off with Nasarawa United in one of the NPFL matchday eleven fixtures billed for Sunday at the Lafia City Stadium.
Dubbed the Battle of United, both teams head into the game with high stakes to fight for as they seek stability in the league.
Kwara United who are playing their second consecutive away game narrowly lost their last game to Akwa United in Uyo. The team has been on the road after the match day nine encounter against Rangers in Ilorin where they were held to a 1-1 draw at home.
They will continue their search for maximum points having drawn their last three games. A mix of performance so far in this campaign now see them occupying 17th position on the log with 11 points.
Nasarawa United are 13th on the log with 12 points. The team is also trying to find their best rhythm under the tutelage of Coach Kabiru Dogo, the former handler of Kwara United.
The face off between both teams is the first time Dogo is leading a team against Kwara United after his sudden departure from the team at the begining of the season.
His exit shifted the managerial role to Tunde Sanni who until Dogo’s was the Chief Coach of the team.
Tunde Sanni is yet to gain stability with the Harmony Boys and the team has fairly performed in the ongoing season. The team has won only two games this season, drew five and lost three.
Dogo’s return to Nasarawa has also not been smooth either. He has managed to win only three games, lost three and drew four so far this season.
The NPFL showdown is billed for 4pm at the Lafia City Stadium.
