No room for indiscipline, cultism, Al-Hikmah VC warns students

Vice-Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Prof. Noah Yusuf, has warned the institution’s matriculating students against engaging in any form of cultism or act of indiscipline that can truncate their career.

Yusuf gave the warning while speaking at the 17th matriculation ceremony of the university on Friday in Ilorin.

According to him, the university management has zero-tolerance for indiscipline in any guise, disobedience to rules and regulations, truancy, night-crawling, drug abuse, examination malpractices, cultism and other anti-social acts.

He noted that there had been a steady and encouraging growth in students’ population since the inception of the university, a feat which he described as a manifestation of the blessing of Allah.

The vice-chancellor urged the new students to pray, work hard and rely on Allah’s blessing to succeed.

“We shall do all it takes to execute our mandate of providing quality and all- round education.

“However, any student caught contravening the institution’s rules and regulations shall not be spared. We will evoke the sanctions stipulated by the university law.

“There is no room for impunity in our university. We must set good examples for others to emulate, and not the other way round. (NAN)
