Nigeria’s army chief death, a rude shock, Saliu Mustapha mourns
An All Progressive Congress chieftain, Mallam Saliu Mustapha has condoled with the family of Late Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, President Muhammadu Buhari and Kaduna State over the death of the late army chief, describing it as a rude shock.
In a statement sent to the press on Saturday, Mustapha said, “The death of Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, came as a rude shock and one too many for the nation as at the time Nigeria is battling with the Boko Haram and other forms of insurgencies.
“Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru was a committed soldier that laid down his life to better this nation. Until his death, Attahiru always carried himself in a patriotic manner and took the fighting against insurgency in our country as a way to go in order to have a responsive and responsible nation.
“I commiserate with President Muhammadu Buhari, the family of the deceased, and the people of Kaduna State over their loss and prayed that Allah gives them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
“It is my prayer that Allah (SWT) grant the deceased paradise and gives the nation, President Muhammadu Buhari, the Armed Forces and his family the fortitude to bear the loss.”
