ASUU strike: Students Union Presidents to storm Abuja for peaceful protest

Council of Students Union Presidents has said that its members will be storming the Federal Capital Territory for a peaceful protest if the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities is not called off.

The organisation, which comprises all Students Union Presidents across Federal Universities in Nigeria, had in a letter to the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, dated 19th July 2022, given the Federal Government seven days ultimatum to resolve the disagreement with ASUU.

The Police Command in Kaduna State has disclosed that its operatives have killed two suspected bandits and recovered an AK-47 rifle and motorcycle on Saturday in the state.

The Command’s Spokesperson, DSP Mohammed Jalige, stated this in a statement on Sunday in Kaduna.

Jalige reported that the sustained onslaught on banditry yielded a positive result with two bandits eliminated, an AK-47 rifle and a motorcycle recovered.

NDLEA apprehends 8 in Abuja, Enugu, Lagos airports for drug related offences
