Osun Election: Oyetola denied us three venues for rally – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State has said the State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, denied it permission to use three venues it proposed for its mega rally held in Osogbo on Thursday.

Addressing newsmen at the party secretariat in Osogbo, the caretaker chairman of the party, Dr. Akindele Adekunle, explained that the party had approached some agencies of government requesting to use the playground of Osogbo Government Technical College for its governorship mega rally but the application was rejected.

PDP: I’m ready to reconcile with Wike – Atiku

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, on Thursday, expressed willingness to reconcile with Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.

Atiku said he is open to a reconciliation with Wike in the interest of the party.

Addressing journalists in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, Atiku insisted that there are no factions in the PDP.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has denied seeking President Muhammadu Buhari’s permission to dump the All Progressives Congress, APC, over the party’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.

Osinbajo said a widely circulated memorandum suggesting he asked Buhari for permission to leave APC was not from him.

The memorandum, dated June 24, 2022 with reference number SH/VP/605/2./0 and titled ‘Permission to resign from APC,’ listed family pressure and other reasons for the alleged decision.

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Kaduna State Command, on Wednesday, said its operatives rescued a girl who was chained and locked up in a room for eight years by her mother.

DSC Habeeb Badamasi, Spokesperson for NSCDC, who confirmed this to newsmen in Kaduna, said the victims had health-related issues such as psychiatric complications and trauma.
