Nigerian man reportedly kept in Dubai prison after being wrongfully arrested

A Nigerian man has been reportedly kept in jail in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE)  after after being wrongfully arrested while he was buying groceries. 

This was revealed by a Dubai based chef, via his Twitter handle.

He said the man was initially declared missing.

He reported that they later got to know that he was apprehended while patronising a store to buy groceries.

He tweeted: “There’s a 23 year old Nigerian currently languishing in Dubai jail. He went missing for a while and then we found out he was arrested for no reason just after he finished buying groceries from the store downstairs. There’s so many of them in jail. No criminal cases nothing.”
