Nigerian footballer dies in auto crash three weeks after joining new club in Cyprus
A promising Nigerian footballer, Paul Julius, has died in a traffic collision in Protaras, Cyprus on Tuesday morning.
According to local police, the 20-year-old died in an accident on a Famagusta road when his car collided with an oncoming car on the Paralimni-Protaras around 6.30am on Tuesday near Pernera.
The 74-year-old driver of the other car is being treated in hospital but is not in a critical condition.
Paul Julius signed for Enosis Neon Paralimniou on July, 30th 2024, just three weeks ago.
Meanwhile , Julius club, Enosis Neon Paralimni, expressed its deep sorrow at the unexpected loss of the young player, describing him as determined and steadfast despite challenges to join the team.
The player once played for Gaish FC in Egypt before making the switch to Cyprus
