Nigerian chef, Tope magie awaits GWR confirmation after 200-hour cooking marathon

The longest cooking marathon category in the Guiness World Records was attempted by Prince Tope Adebayo fondly called Chef Tope Magie.

In a statement signed by Benjamineze C Orji, Project Spokesperson Tope’s quest started on Thursday November 9th, 2023 at 18:31Hrs. and ended on Saturday November 18th, 2023 at 02:40Hrs.

In the course of the 200 Hours Cooking Marathon,  Chef Tope Magie cooked Four Hundred and Eleven (411) different meals, both local and continental.

“The Project Team is currently gathering all evidences required and as stipulated in the Guiness World Records so as to have their official verdict” the statement added.

In June, Nigeria’s Hilda Baci, achieved a world record for the longest cooking marathon with an incredible time of 93 hours 11 minutes.

She would later be dethroned by an Irish man, Alan Fisher who cooked for 119 hours 57 minutes in Japan.

Tope Magie and his team, after submitting all the evidence will now awaits the decision of the Guinness World Records.

The Cook-a-thon attempt was held at Ogbomoso Recreation Club, opposite LAUTECH College of Health Sciences, Isale-General, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

Tope Maggie is a graduate of Federal Polytechnic, Efe, Osun State, where he studied Hotel Management. His name “Maggie” was inherited from his mother, under whom he learnt cooking.
