Nigerian Army conducts one week live firing exercise in Ilorin
The military, on Tuesday, said that the 22 Armoured Brigade Nigerian Army in conjunction with the Nigerian Airforce 303 Medium Airlift Group will be conducting a one week live firing exercise from Monday till Friday
Major E J Mailabari for the Assistant Director Army Public Relations, in a statement made available to newsmen, said that the aim of the exercise is to test and refresh the weapon handling proficiency of troops under the command.
According to the statement, it was revealed that the live firing exercise will take place at the 22 Armoured Brigade shooting range along Malete road, advising communities around Shao and Malete to keep off the shooting range through out the period as live ammunition will be used during the event.
The army, however, advised residents and other road users in the area not to panic on hearing the sound of firing during this period.
