Nigeria vs Saudi Arabia: Super Eagles strengthened by 4 new players ahead friendly duel

In the lead-up to their international friendly against Saudi Arabia, the Nigerian national football team is reinforcing its ranks with the arrival of four talented players at their training camp in Portugal.

Two familiar faces from Manchester City’s academy, Kelechi Iheanacho and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, have joined the squad.

Former Watford goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, and Brentford midfielder, Frank Onyeka, have also reported for international duty.

Remarkably, despite their recent club commitments, these players have shown their dedication by answering the national team’s call.

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, who earned an invite to the Flying Eagles in 2019, has now made the transition to the senior national team, having met his new teammates and actively participated in his inaugural training session.

The Super Eagles are all set to clash with Saudi Arabia’s Green Falcons in Portimão, Portugal, on October 13, 2023, at 5 pm (Nigerian time).

Following this encounter, they will lock horns with Mozambique’s Mambas in the same city three days later.

These friendly matches serve as essential preparation for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixtures.

The Super Eagles are gearing up to host Lesotho’s Crocodiles on November 17 before embarking on a journey to face Zimbabwe just four days later.
