Nigeria records 48 additional COVID-19 infections
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), said that the country recorded 48 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday in eight states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The NCDC announced this on Friday morning through its official website, noting that the latest illnesses had brought the country’s total confirmed cases to 253,923.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the average number of new infections in the country has fallen below 100 in the previous five days.
The NCDC, Lagos State had 15 cases, Cross River had 12, the FCT had eight, and Plateau had seven.
It stated that Ogun reported two, while Abia, Delta, Oyo, and Rivers each reported one.
According to the organisation, no patient has died as a result of the virus, and 72 individuals have been freed from various isolation centres around the nation in the last 24 hours.
According to the NCDC, the number of people who have been recovered and discharged across the country has reached 230,293, and 3,139 people have been confirmed dead since the first recorded death in March of 2020.
