Nigeria @60: Gobir calls for unity, patriotism
A 2019 APC gubernatorial aspirant in Kwara State and the Waziri Karsar Hausa, Waziri Yakubu Gobir has explained that peace, patriotism, and unity are the values all Nigerians must imbibe in the ongoing quest to keep the country united and forward.
Gobir who made this call in a congratulatory message to Nigerians on independence anniversary advised Nigerians to revive the values of the country’s past heroes who sacrificed everything for the freedom and unity of Nigeria.
He maintained that despite the challenges being faced, the country recorded some levels of achievements which call for appreciation as it clocks 60 years of independence.
“Despite the fact that Nigeria today faces challenges ranging from poverty, insecurity, and unemployment, worsened by the recent outbreak of the coronavirus in the country; there are many things to thank God for, after 60 years of Nigeria’s independence.
“Sixty years is a lot in the life of a human being, but only the beginning in the life of a Nation that will one day lead all others on the African continent. We should learn from our mistakes, and change the things that are holding us back from making progress. More importantly, we should nurture the things that make us great – our young vibrant population, the diversity of our culture, and the passion that burns in every Nigerian to be successful,” he added.
