NGO trains police on sexual, gender-based violence prevention in Kwara

A Non-Governmental Organization, Olive Community Development Initiative, OCDI has trained police officers in Kwara state on prompt and effective response to sexual abuse and gender based violence.

The 2-day training session, held at the police officers’ mess in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, started on September 29.

The organization’s head of programs management, Mojoyin Adewuyi, said the program is meant to enlighten the police department on identifying forms of violence, infringement on women rights and how to respond effectively.
