Newcastle stun ‘toothless’ Manchester United 2-0

Newcastle United on Sunday handed Manchester United a 2-0 defeat to leapfrog the Reds on the table with goal difference.

Joe Willock, who had missed two glaring misses in the first half sent the Magpies to the lead  in the 65 minutes after heading in from close range.

Substitute Callum Wilson then put the icing on the cake, heading in a second from a set-piece with three minutes to go.

The victory brings Champions League football next season a little closer to St James’ Park and means Manchester United could slide down to fifth in the Premier League table should Tottenham avoid defeat at Everton on Monday- though Spurs would have played two games more than their top-four rivals.
