“We as their representatives are oblivious of the daunting challenges of meeting up with their expectations and will continue to put in our best to bring dividend of democracy to every class of Kwarans.

“In our 6-month since assumption of office, the 9th Kwara State House of Assembly has done incredibly well in ensuring probity and accountability, driving youth engagement and empowerments, stimulating economic growth and development, infrastructural development across sector among others, through our legislative activities and interventions.”

He added that, “the 9th Assembly intervention returned contractors back to Ilesha-Gwanara road, recovery of some misappropriated State assets and funds by past and present public officials, reinstatement of illegally sacked Kwara state Internal Revenue Service employees and providing succor to our respective constituents in areas of basic needs such as water, electricity and educational infrastructure in some cases.

“The 9th Assembly, so far, has passed three significant bills, which have direct impact on our people’s living standard; the 2019 Revised Appropriation Bill, Kwara state Social Investment Bill and Kwara state Sports Commission Bill.

“While the 2019 revised appropriation was done to align the 2019 budget with the current government’s policy direction for the remaining parts of the last budget year, the Social Investment Bill, which is an Executive bill seeks to empower the youths and women in an institutionalized, objective and dignifying manner, to enable them contribute significantly to the growth of our economy. The Sports Commission Bill seeks to revive the lost glory in sporting activities, promote grassroots sports development and productive engagement of talented young people.

“We shall begin the new year with consideration of the proposed 2020 appropriation bill, recently presented to the 9th Assembly by the Executive Governor. We have jettisoned sustaining the January – December budget cycle for this year to enable us do due diligence and proper scrutiny of the budget in people’s interest and I am assuring Kwarans that we will pass a budget that reflects their yearnings and progressive aspirations,” Danladi said.
