New Asiwaju of Idofian promises community-driven transformative projects, seeks government support

The newly installed Asiwaju of Idofian Kingdom, Alhaji (Dr.) Waheed Amodu Balogun, has pledged his commitment to driving community-focused projects aimed at developing Idofian.

He called on the Kwara State Government and other stakeholders to support these initiatives.

Speaking on Saturday at the first coronation anniversary of the Oludofian of Idofian, HRM Oba Adedamola Olanrewaju Omikunle II, and the conferment of traditional titles on distinguished individuals, Dr. Balogun highlighted several areas requiring urgent attention.

He appealed for government assistance to complete the Oludofian Palace, describing it as a key cultural and historical landmark for the community.

He also emphasised the need to renovate Idofian Grammar School and two primary schools—Idofian Community Primary School and St. John’s Anglican Primary School—stating that improved facilities would enhance academic performance.

Addressing infrastructure challenges, he called for the grading of roads and construction of drainages to improve living conditions and support economic activities.

He also requested the provision of new transformers to address power outages, noting that existing ones were outdated and faulty.

Dr. Balogun stressed the need for better healthcare facilities, urging the government to renovate and equip health centres with modern medical tools.

He further called for investment in vocational training for youth and support for farmers through modern equipment, seedlings, and training to improve productivity.

He urged the people of Idofian to unite and collaborate with the government and traditional leaders to achieve these goals.

He expressed gratitude to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, represented at the event by Alhaji Saadudeen Salaudeen, and thanked the Oludofian and other leaders for their support and guidance.

Dr. Balogun concluded by encouraging everyone to contribute ideas and resources to build a prosperous future for Idofian and Kwara State, promising that the community’s collective efforts would create a legacy for future generations.
