NDLEA files drug trafficking charge against minor in Lagos

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have filed drug trafficking charge against a 17-year-old.

The two counts of alleged drug trafficking charge were filed before a Federal High Court Lagos.

In a signed charge sheet which originated from Mr L.N Nor, NDLEA prosecutor, the NDLEA alleged that the minor carried out the offence on October 3, at Ikorodu in Lagos.

He also made an allegation that the minor was involved in conspiracy and trafficking of 3kg of Cannabis out of lawful authority.

The prosecutor enlightened that the cannabis is a narcotic that is not different from heroin, cocaine, and other substances.

The NDLEA revealed that the offence, was in contravention of the provisions of Section 11 (c) and 14(b) of the NDLEA Act, Cap N30 Laws of the Federation, 2004.

The Act has specified a penalty of life imprisonment for anyone found guilty of the offence.

It was gathered that no date has been fixed for arraignment of the minor.
