NAKSS Kwara poly unveils 25th anniversary programme, Yahaya Seriki to lead keynote session
The National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS), Kwara State Polytechnic Chapter, has announced its 25th anniversary celebration scheduled for November 27 and 28, 2025. The details were made public during a press briefing held on Monday by the association’s president, Sen. Ahmad Ishowo Abdulkabir, at the institution’s campus.
According to Ishowo, this year’s anniversary will focus on youth development, community engagement, and addressing rising social vices. The programme, themed “25 Years of Student Unionism, Unity and Impact: Reflecting the Past, Inspiring the Future,” features sanitation activities, a novelty match, a keynote lecture, a panel session, and an award night.
A major highlight of the celebration is the keynote address to be delivered by Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki, the CEO of Kursi Investments Limited. Ishowo described Seriki as a “distinguished entrepreneur and youth advocate whose leadership experience and national influence will enrich the conversation on student development and ethical growth.”
Day One of the event will include a “Keep Kwara Polytechnic Clean Rally” in partnership with the state Ministry of Environment, followed by a football novelty match featuring students and alumni.
Day Two will hold the keynote lecture at the Muhammad Lawal Hall, after which representatives from the EFCC, NDLEA, Police, and NOA will participate in a talk show addressing internet fraud, drug abuse, and other social vices. The anniversary will end with a Gala and Award Night recognising outstanding alumni, student leaders, and partners.
Ishowo noted that invitations have been extended to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, traditional rulers, government officials, and other stakeholders.
The NAKSS president appealed to corporate organizations, alumni, and well-meaning individuals to support the anniversary, while expressing appreciation to the management of Kwara State Polytechnic and the planning committee for their contribution to the event’s preparation.
