NAKLAS to celebrate Emir of Ilorin, honour kwara’s first generation lawyers at 2026 conference
The National Association of Kwara State Law Students (NAKLAS) National Headquarters has announced plan to host its 2026 National conference in Ilorin.
According to a statement released by its Public relations officer, Imam Abdulsamad Oladimeji, the conference will be held on Wednesday, 3rd June, 2026 at Arca Santa Arena in Ilorin by 9:00am.
The statement added that major highlight of the event will be the formal launch of a book written in honor of the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, who is also a retired Judge.
The book is titled “the Bar, the Bench, and the Crown;a living legend contribution to law &Justice in Nigeria”.
Similarly, an award of recognition will be presented to first generation of lawyers in Kwara State at the historic event.
The awardees?
The first five generation of lawyers in Kwara State will be honoured with a special award at the event.
The awardees include; Late AGF Abdulrasaq (SAN) the father of the current Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq. The Late AGF is reputed to be the first lawyer in the whole of northern Nigeria.
Also to be awarded are, Justice Alfa Belgore; the former Chief Justice of Nigeria, late Justice Muhammed Babatunde Belgore and Late Justice Saidu Kawu; the pioneer Chief Judge of Kwara State and Madawaki of Ilorin.
Others are the pioneer Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, late Justice Mustapha Akanbi and late Dr. Aliyu Alarape Salman(SAN).
