Naira Crisis: We’ll distribute food items to Lagosians
The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has said that the state government would distribute palliatives in form of food items to vulnerable Lagosians that were affected by the scarcity of new naira notes.
The Governor made this revelation, Saturday during a live conference on the naira notes issues in the country.
Sanwo-Olu assured that his administration was working to make provision for palliatives in form of food items to lessen the hardship and pain brought upon the people due to the scarcity of new naira notes.
“We have also since commenced the distribution of food packs, to the most vulnerable citizens, the people most impacted by this disruption in the supply of cash.
“We will continue to highlight more vulnerable groups within our distribution channels who would benefit from the palliatives,” he added.
The Governor said the state government was already discussing with the private transport operators to control transport fares considering the hardship the people were made to pass through.
He, however, advised the people to be calm and the state government was planning to share palliatives in form of food items.
