NAF dismantles IED factory, eliminates terrorist fighters in Borno

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully carried out airstrikes under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), destroying an Improvised Explosives Device (IED) factory and eliminating numerous terrorist fighters in Kwaltiri, located within the Tumbuktu Triangle of Borno State.

According to a statement released by NAF spokesman Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the airstrike conducted on June 18, 2025, was a result of meticulous intelligence reports indicating heightened terrorist activity in the region.

“Surveillance confirmed the presence of an IED-making site and vehicles, which were struck in precision passes by NAF aircraft,” Ejodame stated.

He emphasized that the successful operation has dealt a significant blow to the terrorists’ fighting capabilities, disrupting their command and control as well as logistics chains, adding that the strike also aimed to send shockwaves through the terrorists’ ranks, significantly degrading their morale and operational momentum.

Ejodame reaffirmed the NAF’s commitment to degrading terrorist capabilities and enhancing security throughout the North East region.
