I extend hearty congratulations to the Kwara state Governor- elect Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq. It is with joy and happiness that well-meaning Kwarans welcome you as you grace the throne you have been vying for determinedly quite a time.
On this note, a resounding congratulations to you as the act of being consistent and determine yielded dividends eventually.
Dear AA, I hope this little piece of mine meet you in peace, I hope you are getting ready to take charge of Kwara for the next four years to come. My prayer and the prayer of Kwarans are with you and we all wish you a peaceful stay with commendable infrastructural development, charging health sector, modified educational system, mannerly security services and other wowing social amenities that will take Kwara to the next level.
However, I want to remind you of all the sweet promises and unending struggles that brought you on board. The people of Kwara state saw bright future in your Covenant and they keyed in to the vision with progressive mindset. It would be a great joy if you deliver as expected, Kwarans needs good government who will bring more prosperity to the land and they chose you. It could also be very catastrophic if you falter, so do not fail them, be that real Hero we voted for. It’s my ardent wish that you never take their crying voices for granted, be a leader that lead from the front, never try to lead sitting, thinking and acting in the comfort of your air-conditioned office. While I do not say you should suffer gladly, I meant you should be prepared to burn the sweat and shed the blood whenever needed.
Dear Governor-elect, here are my words of advice for you on your inauguration:
The first requisite for success is the ability to apply your physical and mental energies to one problem incessantly without growing weary. Be yourself, take a step at a time, do not be distracted by the refuting voice of bystanders and do not in totality do without them. Be appropriate in your doing, slow and steady wins the race.
Concentrate all your thoughts on the task at hand. The sun’s ray do not burn until brought to a focus. One good commendable project after another, there is no value, success and prestige in incomplete projects. Less kudos to the government and hell of noises from the refuters. Persons with comparatively moderate powers will accomplish much, if they apply themselves wholly and indefatigably to one thing at a time. By the yard it’s hard; but inch by inch anything is a cinch.
Take the word of Theodore Roosevelt that says “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” Take these golden words and let it be your watchword. Do what you can at the appropriate time to the appropriate quarters and the able gods of Kwarans will continue to be with you.
In the end, governance has little to do with religion, region and rumor. It only has all to do with vision and competence. The wrong knives will never be able to cut that truth.
Here are my sincere words to you Sir and I hope they meet you in good time. Take them and God will continue to be with you. Many Blue times ahead!
