Moshood Mustapha donates 10 million for Ilorin Durbar Festival

In the quest to make 2022 Durbar celebration colourful, a one time Governorship aspirant in Kwara State Moshood Mustapha collaborated with Durbar Committee and donated a sum of N10 million.

Moshood Mustapha made his contribution when he visited the committee members at the temporary secretariat in Emir’s palace, Ilorin.

Mashood while giving his speech said Durbar has made it possible for people to portray the culture and heritage of Ilorin.

“I understand what it is, to come back home and support the culture of our forefathers, we need a lot of money and we need a lot of advice to ensure the success” he said.

He distributed the 10 million cash as follows, Durbar committee 5 million, Central Mosque committee 2million, Durbar football committee 1million, Ilorin emirates descendant progressive Union 1million and Ilorin Youth Development Association 1million.

Mustapha encouraged Emirates to keep oneness among themselves.

He said, “See yourself as brothers and sisters, let us take politics away and be under the big umbrella of emirate.”

Ilorin Durbar festival was created by the Emir of Ilorin Alh, Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, with the goal to foster unity and progress of Emirates. Chaired my Engineer Sulaiman Yahya Alapansanpa, it is celebrated annually a day after Eid-Kabir.

Engineer Alapansanpa said the meeting was not to celebrate anybody or on political matter but towards the success of the coming festival, adding that the donation is open to anyone who wishes to be part.

According him, Ilorin Durbar is peculiar to showcase it culture and promises to be exemptional.

He said, “this year we are trying to expand our scope to the community and friends of the community we want to showcase the artifacts we used in fighting wars, we want to show past chapters of the Emir’s palace, our mode of dressing and so on”.
