Many trapped as 3-storey building under construction collapses in Abuja
A three storey building under construction has collapsed in Abuja.
Seven persons were rescued from the building which collapsed at the capital city of the country.
An aide to the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Ikharo Attah confirmed the incident to newsmen on Thursday, February 2, 2023.
He said many persons are still trapped as a shopping mall under construction collapsed in the 7th avenue area of Gwarimpa in the capital city.
“As of 2:41pm on Thursday, we have rescued seven persons. Out of the seven, five looked stable while two have been taken to the hospital due to their unstable condition,” Attah said.
“So, many of them are still there. Many of them are still calling their relatives under the rubble.”
Those who witnessed the scenario said many persons were still trapped as they were making sound, calling for assistance.
