Manchester derby: United snatch the city from the citizens
Manchester United staged a comeback to pick up maximum points in Manchester derby on Saturday.
In an onslaught that began in the last quarter of the game, Ten Hag boys would struck twice in the space of four minutes late on to snatch a controversial 2-1 and make best out of Jack Grealish opener.
Grealish thought to have handed the citizens a close to the top table as he headed home a cross from Kevin De Bruyne in the 60th minutes.
However, United later regrouped to claim a controversial equalizer through Bruno Fernandes who would eventually have his efforts deemed valid after a momentary VAR check.
Meanwhile, waiting in the wings was Marcus Rashford who was set up by Alejandro Ganacho to cruise home the winner right minutes in to the final whistle.
While the result appeared to have delayed City ‘s pursuits of the top table position behind Arsenal, the crucial win meant a close up for Manchester United on the log as they now sits third on the chart with 38 points -only a point from the citizens.
The game also represent a manifestation of the transformation that has happened at the Old Trafford after the first leg of derby where Guardiola boys thrashed their neighbors 6-3.
