Man dragged to court for wearing military T-shirt
A man, Victor Memga, on Monday, was arraigned in an area court in Makurdi, Benue State, for putting on a military T-shirt.
Insp Veronica Shaagee, the prosecutor, informed the court that the matter was, on May 5, transferred from the headquarters of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), Makurdi, to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).
She informed the court that a patrol team in Ukum LGA, on May 3, apprehended the suspect for putting on a military T-shirt.
She noted that the suspect’s offence was against section 135 of the penal code of Benue 2004.
The defendant however pleaded not guilty.
Mrs Dooshima Ikpambese, the magistrate, accepted the defendant to bail in the sum of N50,000 and one trusted surety.
The magistrate adjourned the sitting to June 30.
