Lockdown: Offa magistrate court sentences five violators to community service

A Kwara State magistrate court, sitting in Offa and precised over by magistrate Yusuf Abdullah has sentenced five convicts to community service for disobeying the state government stay-at-home order.

The convicts, Adamu Musa, Awalu Abubakar, Sanusi Shehu, Abdullah Labaran, Ibrahim Abubakar and Abubakar Sanusi were said to have committed offence of engaging in commercial activities at Ajasse Ipo, against the government directive.

The magistrate, in his judgement sentenced Sanusi Shehu and Abdullahi Labaran to twenty days community service, Awalu Abubakar, Ibrahim Abubakar to fourteen days each while Abubakar Sanusi was given seven days.

The court after releasing the first convict, Musa, on Health ground said others will sweep Ajasse Ipo community saying the exercise which will begin by 9am and ends 12noon everyday should be supervised by prison wardens.
