Lockdown: Again, Ilorin residents defy govt’s order, troop out
Residents of Ilorin, on Friday, trooped out in search of means of survival, defying the Kwara State Government’s new lockdown order.
Our correspondent observed residents went contrary to the government’s directive in most part of the metropolis.
The government had, on Wednesday, reviewed its earlier decision to allow vehicles to move on days earlier designated for restocking of foods and other essentials, directing residents to instead patronise neighbourhood shops and observe all safety protocols.
The review barred commercial and private vehicles from operating, except trucks and trailers conveying food stuffs, medicines and other essential workers.
Our correspondent observed that while the markets were fully opened, traders also displayed their goods by the roadside.
Likewise, commercial and private morists defied the cessation of movement order.
Okada riders were seen on the streets as they moved passengers from one location to another.
