LLPF holds diabetes rally walk 2.0 in Ilorin, extends free medical support to residents

The Light for the Less Privileged Foundation (LLPF) on Saturday, November 22, 2025, held the second edition of its annual Diabetes Rally Walk at Government Day Secondary School, Ojagboro, Ilorin, Kwara State. The event brought together participants, volunteers, medical professionals, and supporters from Abuja, Ilorin, and Lagos.

The rally, led by the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Aisha Kehinde Ibrahim, focused on raising awareness about diabetes prevention, early detection, and effective management, especially within underserved communities. As part of the outreach, attendees benefited from free medical check-ups, essential medications, and refreshments, provided by LLPF’s health team and partner organizations.

Speaking on the success of the initiative, the foundation expressed deep appreciation to the Executive Chairman of Ilorin East Local Government, Mallam Garba Olayinka Lukman Agbelere, for what it described as his consistent support for community health programmes.

LLPF also acknowledged the participation of officials from the Ministry of Environment, noting that their involvement added value to the event.

Media organizations including Theinformant247, Sobi FM, Just Events Online, Yan Media, Creative ABBEY, Creative Director, Azcaf Surprise Documentary Ltd, and Clex, were also commended for providing wide coverage and ensuring visibility for the rally. The foundation equally appreciated its Official Photographer for capturing the event.

Special recognition was given to Akanbi Abdulgowey, CEO of MPR Design and Prints and the Official Branding Partner for the rally, for providing top-quality branding support and contributing to the organisation of the walk.

LLPF further extended gratitude to all partners, volunteers, supporters, sponsors, and team leads across Abuja, Ilorin, and Lagos, describing their contributions as vital to the foundation’s work.

Reaffirming its commitment to promoting SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being, the foundation said it would continue to lead health advocacy efforts, community sensitization, and humanitarian programmes across different states.
