Liz Truss to be remembered for meeting the
England Lionesses after historic Euro 2022 glory

Liz Truss on Thursday announced her resignation as the Prime Minister of the Great Britain.

She would go the history as the Prime Minister who spent the shortest time, 45 days in office as the head of the government.

Meanwhile, the former Conservative leader would be remembered for meeting the historical winning team of the England Lionesses Ten days ago.

Liz Truss met the Euro 2022-winning team on October 19, giving them their first prime ministerial meeting since they became the first England football squad to win a title for 56 years.

Before meeting the team, it was more than two months after their 2-1 victory over their German counterpart in the final of the regional tournament.

She watched the women’s team take part in a training match for around three minutes at the Lensbury Resort in south-west London.

Even though she didn’t speak to the press in her visit, Ms Truss’s, during her campaign before her emergence as conservative leader said “committed to investigating what prevents schools” from providing two hours of PE per week and “wants equal access to all sports for boys and girls”.

It would also be recalled that she was on hand to cheer the team up as they defeated Germany in the final.

The then Prime Minister, Boris Johnson was not present in the final but was in the final involving the male team against their Italy counterparts.
