‘LISABI is the festival; Egbalizanga is its creative engine, Egba is united’
The Lisabi Festival Committee, in partnership with the Lai Labode Heritage Foundation, announces Egbaliganza 2026 as a flagship cultural program of the Lisabi Festival for the third consecutive year. Conceived in honour of our legendary Egba hero, Lisabi Agbongboakala, and inspired by the visionary royal guidance of Kabiyesi, the Alake of Egbaland, HRM Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, Egbaliganza stands as a living tribute to Egba courage, creativity and collective destiny.
Egbaliganza, conceived as a gift to the Egba people & a living monument to Lisabi Agbongboakala, has become one of the proudest proofs of Egba unity. As a flagship cultural program of the Lisabi Festival for the 3rd consecutive year, it is now a strategic cultural and creative engine, bringing together our traditional institutions, our youth, our business community, and our diaspora in one powerful, creative movement.
According to Captain Rasheed Raji Chairman, Lisabi Festival Committee.
“Lisabi Festival is our annual declaration that Egbaland is one strong, focused, and indivisible. Under the guiding spirit of our hero, Lisabi Agbongboakala, and the royal inspiration of Kabiyesi Alake, we have built a platform where culture, commerce, and community walk hand in hand. Egbaliganza, as a flagship program of the Lisabi Festival, is one of our proudest proofs of this unity.
“For the third year running, it has brought together our traditional institutions, our youth, our business community, and our diaspora in one powerful cultural conversation. As Chairman of the Lisabi Festival Committee, I affirm that: Lisabi Festival is our rallying point. Egbaliganza is our creative engine. Unity of Egbaland is our non-negotiable mandate. We are not just preserving heritage, we are positioning Egbaland for the future.”
Running as a key cultural project under the authority of the Lisabi Festival Committee, Egbaliganza is more than an event; it is a unifying platform — showcasing the strength, elegance, and enterprise of Egba sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora. We are not just preserving heritage; we are positioning Egbaland for the future — amplifying Egba identity, opening new social and economic doors for our people, and pushing Egbaland firmly onto the national and global stage with dignity, style, and substance. He added.
To Aare (Dr) Lai Labode Visionary Custodian, Lai Labode Heritage Foundation, “Egbaliganza was conceived as a gift to the Egba people and a living monument to Lisabi Agbongboakala – our symbol of courage, sacrifice, and collective will.
