Lagos Police kill two robbery suspects
Lagos State Police have overpowered some robbery suspects in the Okokomaiko area of the state, killing two of them.
The command’s spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, said yesterday that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) from Okokomaiko got information at 2.30am on Saturday that about five armed hoodlums entered an Airtel Communication site, tied the security guard on duty and vandalised five Inverter batteries, valued at about N6 million, powering the mast.
Hundeyin said that on sighting a team of police men there, “the hoodlums engaged them in a gun duel. As a result, two of the hoodlums were fatally injured, while others escaped and abandoned their operational Volkswagen LT bus with the stolen items, while saying police were on the trail of those at large, while investigation was in progress.
